Recently got lou-lou, little sec a developed poss laminitis within a week of getting her, but farrier thinks poss more severe footsoreness.
Anyway she lived out when I got her, now she goes out at night[5pmish till 7am}
She has a haynet of soaked hay in her stable but hardly touches it, All i feed her is 3/4 mug of soaked lo-cal balancer, 1 scoop garlic then a tinyhandfull of hi-fi lite to mix in with. it amounts to a tiny meal. prob 1 half mugs.
She is a very very eater so will happily eat nothing till she is turned out.
My only worry is I dont like her eating so little during the day then going out and STUFFING grass{I should add its not rich green grass}grazing muzzle has been tried but she now gets it off.
She can be a little lazy too, now is it worth giving her something else with her brekkie to make a more substanial meal.
Someone suggested giving speedibeet{not sugarbeet} to help bulk out meal, give slow release of energy.
Ideas please, havnt a clue on the 'best' ways and what to feed a horse
