Hi all

This is my first post here but im sure there will be plenty more to come.
Just need to talk horse talk for a minute without people thinking im a crazy lady!!:D

I took the plunge yesterday and had my first lesson in about 6/7 years. Guess what? It was AMAZING!! Cant believe I stayed away for so long. I rode for about 12 years from the age of 6 till about 18 and gave up when I went to college. I had always said I missed riding and intended to go back however the birth of my son in January put it off a little longer.

So on arrival the instructor asked my history and I filled her in but emphasised that I was no where near as comfortable and confident as I used to be (SJ and CC competitor at advanced) and that I wished to go back to basics. So thats what we did and as time passed things came back naturally. By the end I had walked, troted, cantered, jumped and come off (my fault, anticipated the jump way to early) It was brilliant!! I cant wait till next week. Need to work on my balance and hand positioning, i imagine this will all come back in time. Now I have to admit I have got the bug once again cant believe i caught it so easily ;)

Well thats enough of my blabing. Thanks for reading.

Hi and welcome, it's fab isn't it getting back into it and then wondering how we managed to stay away soo long. I had a 10 year break(having kids etc) and have been back just over a year and couldn't imagine ever not having horses in my life again! Goodluck with your next lesson.

Thanks everyone for the goodluck and welcome wishes. thats so kind!!

Carly, you got it in one! Im alredy asking my husband if he thinks it could work financially. We are already paying out £64 a week in lessons for me, husband and eldest son. The baby is still young tho so would need assisted or full livery. Fingers crossed for the future!!! He has only had two lessons so maybe the bug will catch him to.:D
