Today it was the open show at a local RC and I decided to take Otto to do the beginners jumping class there which was 2ft. I took him last month and did the clear round and since he was so good I decided to try the next one up!

He was pretty chilled and I found a little corner to ride him in and then plucked up courage to ride him in the collecting ring but promptly left after 3 ponies started bombing round it! :p

I walked the course and then had to ask a stranger to give me a leg up :o

I went in feeling slightly sick but Otto was pretty good and cleared everthing but then decided not to stop after the last jump - think he wanted to carry on! :p

So that meant I had to go in again to the jump off and the jumps went up to 2ft 3" (eek!) and after watching the kids on their little ponies galloping round the course and motorbiking round tiny turns I decided that we were going to take it steady and not even bother cutting corners! We went clear again and this time we stopped when we had finished too and we ended up getting a rosette for 5th place next to all these little ponies! :p

He was fab and I am so pleased with him but I was definately feeling nervous today!

Anyhow, well done if you read all that - here's the bit you really want to see - the pictures!

Was that at Foxes?! Looks familiar!
He looks fab Lisa, and go you! I follow your story a lot, as I too am a nervy jumper and it really is enthralling to see you both in action. You should give me a bell if you go to any competitions near me, would love to tag along and give you a hand, just make sure there is one side of the trailer free so Kai can smuggle in :p

No it was at Antrobus - Foxes is a bit too far out for us at the moment although the people we were chatting to have given me a few more shows to look up - but I'll let you know. I'm definately going to Mitchells next week though - you're welcome to come too!

As to nervy jumps my legs were actually shaking as I went in - I wasn't too sure I would be able to do rising trot! :p

Thanks for the nice reply!

Haha no prob! I actually cried last year before going into the ring :o They were all straight jumps and I have issues with them. The first round was fine as it was 1ft 6, but when it got to 2ft, then 2ft3 jump off, I was in bits - so shaky legs is a hell of a lot better mate! :D

Deffo give me a shout if you want a groom ;)

Well done! I know how you feel as I'm just getting back in to jumping - many years on from when I was a brave teenager and completely fearless!

A couple of weeks ago I did a 2ft class and was so pleased to be the only clear as it meant I didn't have to do a jump off! :D

Otto is gorgeous.
