Hi everyone
I am so glad that I found this forum, I am 41 and had my first lesson in January (it was my new years resolution) I know nothing about horses but
have always wanted to ride and I love my lessons and cannot wait for the next one they are always early saturday morning and so far there has only been me. My RI is really good, I have fallen off twice, I have been on a hack once and fell off when the RIs horse spooked and Ellie who I was cantering on stopped dead (Luckily soft grass) and the second time last Saturday when I had been jumping and Brennan who I was riding on did a brillant jump and then he stopped dead and I lost my balance this hurt more as he is a big horse but I will be back next week as usual.
I have also booked myself on a course for the Horse Owners Certificate to learn more about horses as I hope one day to own my own horse.
I love reading all about everyones experiences as it boost syour confidence when you know that other people worry the same things as you.

Good for you Swivel! I've always wanted to ride and following my wedding last month, I'm fulfilling a 'resolution' and lifelong ambition! Great determination of you've fallen off too - I nearly did last week and feel certain I'd break something if I did which is a big fear for me. You go girl!

Hi. I am 39 and just had my 2nd lesson. You are really doing great to be jumping already. I will be still trying to master the trot at 50 ;-)
Will you be doing the Owners Certificate at your RS?

Hi Suseh97
I will be doing my horse owners certifcate at a college not too far from me (I live near Oxford) the college has there own equestrian centre and they do lots of other courses,
I thought this one sounded good as it teachs everything you need to know if like me you know nothing about horses saying that I can take the saddle off and bridle off as they always let you put the horses away at my RS.
Thanks for everyones responses its great to hear from you all
