Jumping

i find jumping on some ponies / horses difficult yet on others i manage to jump 2.5 foot - 3.4 foot and not notice the difference is this me being a bad rider on some and better on others or is it normal :o

As a novice jumper, I most definitely notice the difference between horses - unless you're really experienced at jumping you're bound to come across those you find easier than others. Some are great for novices because they just sort themselves out - I ride a couple of those and it's a great way to learn! - others need to be "ridden" more and a novice may struggle with them - I ride a couple of those too :rolleyes:
At my RS with client who is learning a particular thing or working on a specific problem, they do it on a horse who is easy for that purpose first, and their new-found knowledge is then tested by putting them on one that requires a little more skill.
