He's doing OK, putting on weight very slowly but just gone over the 10lb mark (he's 4 months old now so this is still very small).

Docs think he may have something called Charge Syndrome and waiting DNA test which will take 3-4 months.

An MRI scan revealed his facial nerves are undeveloped and means he cannot close his eyes (or even blink) or move any of his facial muscles. He'll never be able to smile. Its heartbreaking but the sad reality is he might not get older so we just have to enjoy now.

Yes he is a little fighter - amongst other things:o Today I had to empty my bra of puke.:mad:

It was a shock at first but its not like theres a choice in what to do about it is there.

Charge Syndrome was only recognised in the early 80's and they really only started testing for it 3-4 years ago so there is not much of a database of cases to go at in order to predict very much so really we still are none the wiser, we just have to wait and see how he gets on when he grows up but since he's been born I've come into contact with so many people whose babies have died with heart conditions that we would be foolish to waste time and energy on what may or may not happen and just concentrate on the here and now.

Right now that here and now is a very smelly nappy!:D

hello

not been hiding anywhere just been stupidly busy lately & was getting a bit p'eed off with newrider & some of the arguing that was going on so just decided to have a break for a bit.

I've not been riding much lately either - seems either I'm ill or sylvester's injured. My lorry is off the road too so hopefully over the next few months I'll be sorting it all out, getting me & syl fit again and getting out & about to a few shows :D
