View Full Version : clueless about dressage, help!

Thinking of having a go at Indoor essage over the winter to keep my horse and I active, we are trained in western riding , I have no experience whatsoever of dressage, so have no clue where to start, any one give me any clues please? we are based in worcestershire

See if you can find one taking place and go along to have a look.

you'll need the dressage tests and you basically just learn the test or have someone there on the day to call the test for you.

It usually consists of some 20m circles, trotting, walking including a free walk on a long rein and canters on eacj rein. They end by you trotting up the centre line of the arena towards the judge who will be sitting in his car and you then halt and do a salute and then walk out of the arena at A on a long rein.

Preliminary is the most basic (what I do! ;) )then there is novice and intermediate which are more advanced.

Best to go and watch some and then have a few lessons to get you going in the right direction.
