half chaps

my OH wears leather chaps for BSJA and unaff shows.
i might, by some small chance, compete in an unaff show, he has been told that his leather half chaps are fine for him to wear. i think th unaff show follows similar rules to the BSJA, but maybe abit more leniant (sp?:o)
but
he said that i would be allowed to wear mine as mine are suede. they are real suede shires half chaps and as ive had them for awhile an they have had some hard use they are beginning to leather, does that make sense? :o

would i be ok?

You'll be fine unaff., but in BSJA you have to wear gaiters (made of leather so it looks like you're wearing long boots).
