Is it acceptable to wear coloured jodhs for xc?

I am doing a diddy ODE soon, and normally wear beige, but as we have a lovely grey Bartl saddlecloth, black BP and hat silk (and boots and gloves too) I thought I might wear a grey top - then I thought grey jodhs too, so everything's black or grey. Does this sound ok, or a terrible faux pas ;):D?

I do have black numnahs which I could use with my bright cerise xc shirt, but like the idea of the sheepskin to give him a bit of extra comfort/protection (and I'm not about to splash out on a new sheepskin pad in a different colour!).

Will obviously be wearing the beige jodhs for the stressage and sj, before anyone shouts at me! :p;)

someone once told me that you have to wear beige so the blood is visible incase you have an accident, dunno if this is right tho.

Oh how charming  BE let me wear a black top, so I guess they don't mind if I'm bleeding from my guts :o

For hunter trials you can usually wear any colour jods you like, but ODE it's normally cream or white. I think they assume you can't be bothered to change after the dressage & sj! It should say in the schedule.

there were some wearing dark jods in the olympics so i dont see why not but prob best to check on the day before you get changed.

Oh, well, if it's good enough for the olympics...;):D

Think brown would probably be most appropriate ;), but will prob end up too flustered to change anyway and stick to my normal attire

To avoid distress to the spectators, maybe we should all dress from head to foot in blood red, just in case

I think dark jodhs should be accpetable as me in pale ones is just too scary.

Just a thought - are you going to Solihull diddy / mini ODE?

it would be against BE dress guidelines to wear grey, but it is technically OK to wear brown breeches with brown boots.

riders in coloured jods that you see at badminton etc are usually riding in uniform

Yep :D

Ahh wicked. I may be there too - its my bday, so I thought Aram and I could celebrate lol! If I do actually go, look out for the fjord who is probably falling asleep in the warm up areas but going crazy when competing.

I think I am going to go for it, but there is a high chance of elimination because I have not jumped xc before on him (argh!- gotta practice) and when sj, it depends what mood he is in. I am also annoyed because I want to do the diddy ODE, but have to go into section B because I came 3rd in a walk and trot dressage.

What class are you competing in?

Sorry to drag this topic up again, but just to be sure, are you allowed to wear white jodhpurs for XC? I ask because I'm doing a 2'6 pairs XC with my friend in september, and I got some white jodhs for my birthday that I'm desperate to get mucky! :D
