Can anyone tell me where I can find out what the seven Parelli games are? I have a young horse I'm doing ground work with, and I'd like to know more!

I've checked amazon and barnes&noble's website for Parelli's books, but the old one (Natural Horse.man.ship) is out of print, and the new one (Six Ways or something like that) isn't available yet.

Anybody know where I can go for more info? Thanks!

Try:

www.parelli.biz

as this is Pat Parelli's website. They used to sell it there, I should think that they still do.

Good on ya Peace,

There is a video by Pat Parelli called the seven games which I recommend watching. Check out his website in America. But I do highly recommend going to one of the Parelli clinics, you will learn so much. As you know I too have a very young pony, he will be 3 in April (Arnie) and I've just started playing the seven games with him, even though we are only up to the fourth game which I am having problems with, so I will get some help from a level 3 friend to overcome this. I will be taking Arnie to some PNH clinics over the next 6 months just to do groundwork and get him used to travelling, he's still pawing in the float/trailer. Good luck with your journey in natural horsemanship, it has changed our lives with our ponys.

Thanks Miriam - I've not yet read even a basic intro to these games so I'm printing them off now to read later.

Strangely enough they are mentioned in the new Your Horse Mag. Jan-Feb edition :)

Ooops - sorry Peace, I didn't look to see where you were from!

They're used to be a whole series in Your Horse - it was a few years ago - and I think it showed all of Level 1.

Rakeli your right they were. I used to have them. Took the first ones to the old yard I was at and someone stole my mag. I should have the last few somewhere. They were really great as it gave step by step instructions and piccies. Was thinking of asking them if they would redo them.

Sorry for being so slow to reply - school started back this week:rolleyes: - but I've had a look at the website with the description of the seven games.

Having bought a young horse as a novice rider, I like the idea of building our confidence in each other on the ground first. I'll definitely try and find the magazine articles!

LOL I've had this site stored in my favourites for ages. It gives a more detailed description of each game http://www.visi.com/~jbly/equine/methods/seven_games/

Mazpup thats the site that only holds a few of the games as the others are under construction. The one I have given holds all the games.

I think you can get a photocopy of the previous articles on Seven Games from Your Horse... Yep, "send an SAE and a cheque for £3 - payable to Your Horse - to ..." Your Horse, Emap Active, Bretton Court, Peterborough PE3 8DZ...

Also there is quite a good description in a book by a guy called John Moore, but he's based in USA. Its not "parelli" as such but the ackowldgements include one to his friend Pat Parelli and its remarkable similar !
