Have any of you guys tired it? How successful was it? Anyone have a contact number as wouldn't you know it I cant find the advert when I need it! My mare has a flat sarcoid and i wanted to give it a whirl using that on the outside and trying thuja from the inside.

Hi Jane, I have tried both with Quest who had a single raised sarcoid.
Camrosa - 01892 783240. I didn't persevere with this for long as I found it too messy. Actually, I found it more useful for injuries or leg mites on my hens.
I tried the Hilton Herbs Ditton mix (not the cream which didn't exist at the time) in combination with Thuja. This was quite effective, the sarcoid suddenly expanded and became itchy and one day Quest bit it off completely (horrible I know). No trouble since. For all I know the same thing may have happened anyway without the treatment.

Ditton tends to work either very well or not at all - for some horses it works and for others it never will (or at least that's what Hilton told me). I'm currently using aloe vera in the feed and putting gel on the sarcoid and it's working really well - better than anything I've tried up to now.

Sorry to be dense, but can you tell me what Thuja is? My friend's horse has a sarcoid and she's been using Camrosa, and it seems to be helping.

Thuja is a homepathic remedy, it comes in different potenties and is good for skin problems such as mud fever/rain scald, verucas and warts in people and can be helpful with sarcoids. The easiest way to administer it to horses is using a spray directly into the mouth as you have to avoid touching the tablets and sometimes they can spit them out. You have to avoid doing it when you are giving feed particularly if there is something strongly flavoured in there such as garlic as it overpowers the effect.
