Chapsi! He's beautiful! No wonder he mistrusts people, the state he was in. He's a credit to you. I'm so glad he has responded positively to you - 6 months isn't really a long time to a horse who has learnt to mistrust people. He may respect others, but you are mother and he can be himself with you. I reckon he's wanting to trust you but can't understand why you're nice to him when he's mean to you. My mare takes a little advantage of me; she pretends she can't turn sometimes and will plod along without encouragement. She pins her ears back and snorts in disgust when she sees me (I've owned her for over three years!) but she is learning to like me and the answer was with me, not her. She respects other people better, but you know what? Itg's because she's scared of them. I don't want her ever to be scared of me asnd if it takes 10 years for her to truly bond, so be it. I will never be unkind to her - and you have got on so well with Pegasus that I am encouraged by your success (my mare has no history of abuse!)
Good luck and well done
