Hey people I really need some help with this!!!

I am looking for a company that dies hitch locks for an ifor williams that go over the hitches themselves.

Now my Ifor has a lock which I use but my bro brought it to my attention that he could take my trailer in about five mins!!! Armed with a hammer and a decent screwdriver!!!

Now I have browsed the internet and not found anything except for bunches of numbers of types of hitch!!

The only one I did find with the ifor name next to it was over 100 quid and I could see others but not sure if they would fit my hitch!!

Its a standard ifor 505 Hunter!!!

Please peeps worried right now as there have been people up at the farm requesting grazing and Farmer chased them as they are known dodgy people!!

My trailer is chained to a building post, has the hitch lock on but a pair of bolt custters a hammer and a screwdriver could find me without a trailer!!

Also heard of trailers stolen with a wheel lock on!!!

hitch locks are standard as they fit all hitches (all standard) as they have to fit all tow bars!!

However not wanting to scare you or anythign but we bought a hitch lock, supposedly one of the best, turned up at the yard to find trailer had moved?!?!? talked to YO and her OH had just tied the hitch (including lock) to tow bar with some thick rope, apparently secure enough to move at low speeds. Not road legal but if they were determined!

I would personally look into the wheel clamps you can now get, dont know much about them though.

However, not being sinical or anything but if they really want to steal it they will have the tools to do it. The best thing you can do is put off opportunists by making any locks as bright and obvious as possible!!

If someone really, really wants to steal your trailer and knows what they are doing, a hitch lock and wheel clamp will not make a difference. I have a "Bulldog" hitch lock which I bought from the IW dealer up in Bridge of Allan when I bought the trailer - also got a wheel clamp (which should always be put on the back wheel).

Can I ask JB what is the number of your bull dog clip???

I saw lots of those but not sure what model for my trailer??

I have got the chain and a wheel clamp so might do all three and its in front of the farmhouse too. Should I maybe move it round the back of the stables??

look on caravan websites,,,
we have all these things for our caravan,,,,
sorry to say tho, they are not infallible, or even burglar proof,,,, judge by the number of caravans that go missing,,,
check your ins too, as with our caravan, we have to have a hitchlock and a wheel clamp,,,
what about a tracker device, ?? and also caravanners put their post code in big letters on the roof,,, you can see from motorway bridges and police helicopters,,,, also in indelible pen, put your post code somewhere unobtrusive,, so if found you can identify it,,,

one website is towsure..

I had the same trouble when I was looking for a lock - its really hard to know what ones will fit as there are so many different types of hitches. I ended up buying the Fortress A hitchlock from here :http://www.sasproducts.co.uk/
It fits avonride hitches which the Ifor williams trailers have :)

i have a bulldog too. i too go by the "if they really want it nothing will stop them" rule but so far ive not heard of any that have had a bulldog on getting stolen. we've had a few trailers stolen at the yard but they havent touched the bulldog ones (as far as we're aware;)). we got ours from Jenkinsons

You could try taking a look at this site http://www.lincmaster.co.uk/html/products/trailer.html

If you contact them they will need to know the make of the hitch on your trailer (bradley, alko etc.) to ensure the correct fit
