If so, are they really as good as they sound?

i used to help out at a morgan stud (bluestone morgans).
The stallions were really super calm, obviously excluding when a mare walked past their stable, but they could be ridden on the school next to a field full of broodmares no problem.
They're really nice horses generally. Tend to be very laid back, but they're fairly showy looking, and our lot were always very intelligent!

Jackson's dam was a Morgan. He is EXTREMELY intelligent, really pretty willing, very even tempered, and very athletic.
His mom was the ultimate trail horse. She was a lot of fun, and very smart, and at 15hh a good medium sized mare. Honestly, if she hadn't been sold already I would've loved to have her for myself.

Mum and sister both have one.
They're compact horses (about 15hh) but sensible and VERY intelligent.
Appear to be good allrounders.

Any what - Morgans in the UK ?!
You need to have a look more to the south-west and in Wales ;)
(I'm sure there are others and admit that I'm not a huge Morgan specialist)
