Has anyone got any positive or negaitve feedback on alternative therapys? My horse has just come up in an allergy and i was wondering it there was any natural product i could use to ease his skin. I am also curious to see the effect of Bach Flower Remedies.
So drop a message if you have any suggestions.
Also, what sort of prices (£) are these alternatives?

I've used homoeopathic remedies for a number of years now with great success. I also use Bach Rescue remedy for the young horse when she is competing.
I am very lucky as one of the vets in our practice specialises in homoeopathy and she will recommend a remedy instead of conventional treatment if she thinks it appropriate. A really big bonus is that the remedies are also quite cheap. Stuff that I use regularly such as Arnica I can buy quite readily. It is generallly cheaper to buy the one's made for humans rahter than those made for horse owneres. They are made to exactly the same standard but are ususally quite a bit cheaper. The Nelson's brand is about £4 for the 6c strengths and £5 for the 30c strengths, ususally 84 pills per pack.
My friend uses herbal supplements for her COPD horse and he keeps really well on that.
My horses are checked regularly by a chiropracter. Most practitioners will want a referral from your vet the first time, again it is easy for me as our vet uses the same chiropracter for her own horses.
