What color is she?

A friend of mine just rescued this little mare from an auction. She was in horrible shape but is now on the mend. We don't know anything about her past. Anyone know what color she is? She apparently had a dorsal stripe this summer but it has faded as she got her winter coat. She is a Tennessee Walker.

Oh wow what a beautiful colour! I'd say some type of dun because of the darker face but am no expert! I don't even know if there IS dun in Tennessee Walkers. You need our Chev :) I'm sure she'll be along soon!

Lol, yeah I was hoping Chev is online! I was thinking Dun also, but I am not as knowledgable about Duns. She is a very unique color though! Poor thing has crappy conformation and has had a rough life(you can tell) but Sugar is as sweet as they come.

What colour is her skin? Is it mottled pink? And what colour are her eyes? I'm thinking she may be champagne...

ETA have a look at the skin between her thighs to see if it's mottled pink or not. I know champagne does occur in Tenessee Walkers and she doesn't look right for dun. I'd put money on her being champagne. Tis easy to tell because champagne has a few unique pointers.

She looks like a variation on a cream ? A Champagne of some sort ?

God love her - her conformation is appalling isn't it..those hind legs :eek:that front end :eek: poor little thing.. no doubt some BYB (the KolorKrazy sort that FHOTD is always raging against) produced this poor excuse for a mare.. because she was a fancy colour.. *shakesheadindisgust*

And she ended up at some auction no doubt destined for a bus ride to Meh-Hico ?

Poor thing gives new meaning to camped out in the back doesn't she? Well, she'll be well taken care of from now on. My friend doesn't really breed her horses, she likes to rescue them, so I'm not worried about that thankfully. It'd have to be one REEEAALY nice stallion,lol.

Thank god for that.. that's a serious candidate for the DoNotBreedFromAnyHorseAnytime Campaign.. that's probably how she came about .. .sod the conformation - she's such a purdy colour!!! :rolleyes::mad:

I don't think there is a Stallion in existance that would have the genetic strength to sort those legs out..
