How many people hear have heard of clipping a horse's white marking to accent them for the show ring? Is this only used in halter classes or in other events as well? Justin has a blaze and three white markings on his legs.
I've never clipped white markings, but I have used chalk on them to accentuate the whiteness for showing.

I've only heard of it being used in halter classes. I've got a grey horse with black legs, so obviously I've never done it! You have to be careful to cut it evenly though, or it will look choppy and worse than before. Personally, I think I would just trim the hair at the back of the fetlock and leave the rest alone. As K said, you cna use chalk blocks or French chalk powder to whiten them without having to clip.

Last yr I went to an Arab regional in the States. Those horses had been shaved down to the pink skin. I thought that looked really bad. If you decide to shave, use a blade that doesn't clip so close; it will look much better than pink skin. But then again, I like just natural horse.
