since my friend and I have been hacking together! We have previously ridden together for more than 30 years and then last January 2007 I was pregnant and then after the baby came my mare was lame, then the following January her horse died of colic. Then we set off to find her a new one and during that time my mare had to be retired. She found a new pony in March and I got my new mare in April, but hers was a baby 4 yr old and my spooky TB did not make a great combination, so I hunted for a sensible older pony to take out with them ...and last month I found Tally. So today was our first ride together in nearly two years...and it was glorious! Pics.... and cake for all those reading...

That looks like a lovely Sunday morning to have!

I enjoy hacking on my own sometimes but think it is lovely to have some company too.

Your wee Tally is gorgeous btw.

I'm so glad you had a good time.

I love riding out solo but I also loved riding out with my friend occasionally. She's sold both her 2 now and for the fisrt time in 35 years doesn't have a horse.

I'd find that very hard, does she still ride other peoples???

She's taking a complete break at the moment. She has the offer of Joy and various other peoples too.

Her teenage daughters lost interest and she has a lot on her plate at the mo.

I suspect she'll go back to it, just a case of when.
