First I'd like to say hi to everyone. Although I joined a few weeks ago I've spent so much time browsing the boards I haven't got around to posting anything!

What I would like to know is what is the difference between part and assisted livery and what sort of duties would the yard owners normally do with each (turning out etc)? Also, what sort of costs would I be looking at? I am in Jersey which I know is prety expensive compared to many places on the 'mainland'. As a guide DIY costs £30-£40 per week and I know that part livery starts at about £75 per week for the less-expensive yards. I used to lease a horse on DIY which was within my budget financially but time-wise I found very hard work as I have a full-time job & sometimes have to work late, so I need something where I won't have to go to the yard every morning & evening.

Thanks,

Anna

hi

part livery and assisted really depends on the yard each yard seems to have their own idea in what's included. you would be best ringing round and asking each what you get for your money.
round here part livery is just help with when you can't get their, and while at work they will turn out for you. Most tho tend to offer a morning service for part livery, and assisted livery is help with paying you work off your debt so to speak, but again each yard has their own idea. and some will do one or the other either morning or night. But i find most offer a morning service.
