I had to share this with you,...cause my office staff just wouldn't understand!!!

On my lesson on tuesday night,..whilst schooling in trot on a 'rising 6' year old who is quite green for his age (balance/education wise)..I suddenly felt so secure and had the feeling that I could stay in sitting trot forever!! I don't normally do too much sitting trot on a horse that isn't balanced/strong enough yet, and also I knew my own sitting trot wasn't good enough for this horse's standard of education..

So...suffice to say that I think I really HAVE turned a corner,..in my sitting trot...it just felt sooooooooo bloomin' comfy,...I could have gone all night!! ..the horse was so relaxed and kinda floaty in his way of going..ohh honest...it was a real moment I'll never forget..

I just had to come on and tell someone...!! I'm pretty chuffed actually!

No-one at work understands - I know the feeling! They pretend to be interested 'cos they're nice chaps really, but they have no idea. I keep asking my boss to get me an assistant who's into horses but he's failed miserably to date  Some things you just need to share, don't you :)

I know exactly what you mean by it all suddenly clicking together. I had to ride a different school horse at my lesson last week, his name is Wolfie, instead of Rocky. Anyways, Wolfie is a half andalusian, and has a weird trot. But his sitting trot was suddenly a whole lot more comfortable than rising to his trot! It was amazing! And weird...

What a great feeling! Congratulations on turning the new corner in your riding.

I think we can all sympathize with the desire to tell someone who cares. No matter how polite our friends and family may be, the nitty-gritty details just hold no real meaning to the non-horsey set.
