Did anyone ever go to these stables? It was where i learnt to ride. I have very fond memories of falling off and sometimes staying on. Stables were near crossroads, Keighley, West Yorkshire. The lady who learnt me to ride now works at the Riding for the disabled in Haworth. The stables are no longer there they did at one time do livery but someone has made a few pounds by building houses on the once indoor school. (whoops looks like i've posted twice)

My daughter spent many happy days there. They did own a pony for a week activities in the summer holidays and she loved it. She used to ride a skewbald mare called Gemma. It was offered to us for £700 but I couldn't afford it at the time.
I rode there a few times as well.
Later I went to Draughton and rode there every week. Lovely horses there and lovely hacks.

The area it's in is known as Flappitt so I guess it' where they got the name. When i went I remember a couple of horses, Shan, Domino, Smokey, Fudge, Danny. Sadly they are all probably long dead.

Have been speaking to someone today about flappitt stables, most of the horses are now dead but Domino is still alive at the ripe old age of 34 and happens to be in a field that my dad rents out. My nephew has even sat on him. (What a small world)

A couple of weeks ago Domino one of the horses I learnt to ride many moons ago has died. I thought he was about 34 but he was 39. His death was even mentioned in the local paper.
