All X5's have a towing capacity of 2700kg - which is the same as my ford ranger with which I can tow a 510 and a 15.2 HW cob and a 16.3hh Shire X...........
so I would think you should be ok unless you have 2 heavy heavy horses¬¬

Depends on the engine size not all X5's are 2700kg i'm afraid
3.0i and 3.0i Auto are 2400kg
The 4.4i, 4.8i and 3.0d are 2700kg
An ifor 510 max weight is 2700kg so equalling your towing car which legally is fine if you have a trailer licence or pre test needs. If its capable i couldn't comment as never used one

Thanks for all the feedback. The horses are 15.2hh and the trailer is about 5 years old.
