What are your opinions on the saddles and does anyone here have them? If you do then piccies are required :)

Very narrow and the seats come up very small. It is very lightweight:)

I was looking for something as going to buy a horse next year, saving up with a part time job so won't be able to shell out £3000+ for the horse and £800+ for a really good western saddle. Can you not ask for a larger seat and for it to be wider?
Sorry, I really am a divvy about saddles, don't even know what size my last horse was!!!
This is the one I'm talking about http://www.wintec.net.au/products/stock/stockAllRounder.html

The wintec westerns only come in one width size, biggest seat size is 16 inch, which is supposed to be around a 17.5-18 inch english saddle, but I found it was barely 17 inch (I ride in 17 inch english saddles).
You would be better off getting a western saddler out to fit a saddle to your horse, or buying a treeless western if no fitters near you:)

Yeah I would probably need a bigger one as I have a fat *ss :o
No western fitters near me I don't think, and don't really like treeless; live in the Lincolnshire Grimsby area :(
Actually I think my old saddle fitter who fitted an English saddle to my old horse used to do some western saddles, so I think I could buy one in the 'sort of' right size and get him to tinker with it... is that a feasible option?

I have one!:) Agree, it's not the widest tree out...! But I can lift it up with my dodgy shoulder and na*kered back! It's not my favourite saddle in the whole world, but I have a hip problem which often prevents me from riding, at least I can still enjoy riding with this saddle occasionally!
It did fit my cob really well, but because I've not been riding her much, she's got all lardy and changed shape....and now it's too tight! I feel LOTS of bareback hacks coming on to get her fit again.
The Wintec Western fits my Hungarian mare like it was made for her. :)
I know what fits and what doesn't as I worked for a long time for a SMS saddle fitter. He sometimes did Western saddles too. I usually ride in an 17.5" or 18" English saddle because I'm tall and have long thighs! My Western saddle is a 15" Must have lost some weight as my a*se fits in it just fine! :D
I'll try and find a couple of pics.... These are of my cob just before she got too wide for the saddle...! Annoyingly, I don't have a single photo of my Hungarian mare in it! Sorry the pics are a bit small...But it gives you an idea. :)

Ooh it looks really nice! If I bought a horse I would only go for a criollo, and they're not really big wide horses so it might fit quite well. Of course I'll look around and see if there's any other good ones I can get a little cheaper. Just liked the look of these as I had a wintec english for my old cob and it was lovely, and I could lift it up- I'm a real weed and can't even lift an english leather saddle higher than about 15hh !! :o
