I'm by no means an expert but she looks pretty nice to my highly un-trained eye! No really from what i do know she looks nicely put together, i'm sure some people will be able to be a bit more detailed but she is gorgeous!

Shes said to be an 'irish sport horse'
her passport has all her dams/sires/grand sires name, but not breed. about three are stated to be full TB. but it doesnt say her mum or dads breed :rolleyes:

i asked because she looks to have the same shape as my mare and i thought i saw a brand mark on her flank a similar shape to the BWP. My mare obviously has alot of TB in her however so this might be what i'm seeing!

she has nice round quarters which i like - alot of sj'ers have long backs and sloping hinds biut i like them compact like your mare as they will manage the turns easily like a pony

I really like her from the video... She seems very forward going, she's got a nice balanced canter if a small bit overbent, she's not fussy with her head though and she's got loads to give. Lol, at her tail, such a mare thing.

There is a sequence of canter where she strikes off on the wrong leg, also immediately changes to the right leg but then almost immediately changes back to the wrong leg and continues on?... Do you know why? She seems very sensitive anyway. I read your thread earlier about her being a bit wild when you were handling her and that the dealers are coming out in two days time to work with her and you? I'd suggest though that you try ride her and get a handle of her yourself, she looks like a really nice mare but needs a sensitive yet strong rider. I know it was your first time riding her but you overcorrected her on the way into that first fence, and she got underneath it - she would have jumped that off a nice long stride, but like PM pointed out, shes short coupled and compact and will adapt and turn like a pony so to speak. She'd be good for amateur classes (I don't know what the equivalent is in the UK) She jumped those last two fences lovely, she looks like she's been well schooled to jump.

Do you mind me asking how much they are asking? I've seen similar horses by Jumbo going for double figures and they were geldings.... :o

Is her passport Irish? What colour is it?

The only thing I don't like about her conformation is her hind pasterns, they are very straight - if you are paying a lot of money for her I would want those x-rayed, you don't know how much jumping shes done.

She reminds me a little of my Odie, close coupled, short canons and low hocks - not a bad thing when put together - it just gives her that slightly 'ponyish' shorter stride, but she's still got great scope because she is nice and compact.

She is lovely, but personally I don't like her short trotting stride and she seems to be being cantered all the time. I prefer to see a horse walk and trot nicely and then worry about canter later (I've tried too many horses that expect to canter all the time and it takes ages to get them to then sort out their trot). Sorry for being a little negative, but you did ask for comments either way:)

She had already been worked and jumped that morning because we actually went there to view another horse but turned out was not what i was looking for. I went on to try 2 other horses that i didnt like and then they said they had a little bay...I only rode her for about 10mins and the owner was more intrested in getting me to ride her forward and teaching me how to let her take me to fences, i think? When the boy rode her (before me) he did most trot work and he got her striding out better than me. I just need to get used to her i think,

just went and had a look for the tags it came with whem i bought it, ahh i cant find them anywhere but i allways see them around, so when i find them ill tell you x

She's a nice horse. The only thing I wasn't so keen on was that she looks a touch stiff and tense through her movement - mainly in the neck, during the flatwork period. This eased up in the jumping - presuming you have a full vetting and she's fine, I would suggest she's a good candidate for stretching and flexing inhand and undersaddle before each session...Also might have something to do with the grackle? I'm not saying she doesn't need it for jumping but if she has been a dressage horse previously she almost certainly won't have had a grackle for flat, and I wonder if she is tensing against it? Might be a similar situation re bit if it's more than a snaffle, I can't see (again not saying get rid of it - just saying to me she looked a little on the tense side and some tack can add to that when it's a calmer 'flat' situation...)

Nice though - she's like my boy, jumps and approaches the fence much nicer when it's bigger. Doesn't jump bad over the smaller ones, but not with quite the same level of technique as I saw in the bigger fences. Hope you get on with her and have a fab time.
