Found a new hacking route

Today I went hacking with my friend and we went from Titchfield to Wickham.

We found ourselves on the disused rail way track in Wickham, and had we kept ridding I would have ended up near Joyscarers yard! :p But we turned around to go home as we were cold and hungry.

But it only took us 1hr and a bit to get to Wickham.

So watch out Joyscarer I'll be coming your way soon, we could meet for a hack! ;)

Ooh, I love that rail track...although having to trust Joy for directions got a bit hairy at times (neither me or my riding companion knew the turn off haha).

How long IS that track then?

It goes all the way up to West Meon - hop off there and join the South Downs and meet up with Clava ;)

At the other end it goes into Funtley and I'm not sure beyond that.

Do you remember L that we did that ride towards Funtley once with you on Charley. Had to turn back though to get home for the school run. That was when I was slap bang in the middle of my crisis of confidence and refused to canter after that.

Main railway line is 13 miles but it is permissive after you get past Wickham towards Funtley I think.

You can get to Fontly, but you can't get off there, so you have to get off next to the Scats store and then ride on the road from there.

Clava - Of course I am going to be meeting up with you! Bring on warmer weather and you'll get sick of seeing me and Forest!

What I will do is ride it on my own one day I am free with good weather and see how long it takes me and where I can get off etc before I meet you! ;)

Shan't get sick of seeing you at all! Have you looked at the Gmaps to help plan your routes, I've worked out that Old winchester hill is only about 5 miles from me.

No I haven't yet. I know how to get to the railway and which way to go but don't know how long I have to stay on the railway line for, so not sure what exit I would need to take yet! :)
