what are the pros and cons on teaching a horse to double to help cure problems such as bolting and bucking?

Whats 'Doubling' mean?

Doubling helps a horse to shift his balance toward the rear,
kind of like to turn on the haunches.It encourages rather than discourages the horse to go forward.It lightens his response to the snaffle,rather than teaching him to lug on it.
THe start of doubling to the right:The riders outside leg is back to hold the horses haunches,the inside hand is low and pulling out to the side,to lead the horse in the direction he is to turn,while the rider looks where the horse is going to .double to the left:at this point release the turning rein;the horse will finish the turn of his own accord.As he does,make him go forward.
