Riding Star

My kids bought a copy of the sim game Riding Star and have spent most of the day trying without success to make it work. I seem to remember a while ago there was a thread on this but I can't find it now. It did seem to install for a short while then disappeared. I've tried to uninstall to start again but it won't uninstall either. Frustrating to say the least. Anyone any sugestions? Many thanks.

Thanks for the thread Mike - we got it working eventually and the kids have hardly been off it since - it must be good. It still crashes more than most and you have to go through a rigmarole to uninstall it and start again, but that might be a problem with our PC. The playstation version is more expensive but might be the better option.

We bought this for the kids at xmas and they love it to bits. I have tried it but I am hopeless.
You should not have this many problems with a pc game, it should load and play first time. I, personally would take the game back and change it. I have had to do this with a lot of games, you would not believe how many unchecked faulty games there are out there.
Do not accept the excuse that it is nothing to do with the shop,please send it to the manufacturer. It is to do with the shop. They sold it you and if it is not fit for the purpose then they have to change it or give a refund. Don't always assume it is your PC. The problems we have had with games would mean that our pc would be in a workshop more than on its desk !!!!!!!!

Hi! After reading all your posts, I decided I had to try the game. I thought it might be babyish... I downloaded the demo, and I absolutely love it! Next problem - finding a place to buy it! I'm in the US - doesn anyone know where to find it? I am also wondering what the different "versions" are. Is the "Mary King" version differnt? If so, which is better? Is PC or playstation better?

I have the Mary King version. I have no idea what the others are like, but as far as I know the Mary King one is the official one. I bought it from http://www.chicksaddlery.com You can also get them from http://www.ridersupply.com and I'm sure from other online sites. I looked at our local computer stores before I bought it online, but the closest thing any of them had was Barbie's Riding Club (see the previous Riding Star post for our views on that game!)

Okay, I went back to find it, and it is not listed there anymore, so they must not sell them now. (I bought it several months ago). You should be fine with ridersupply though, I have also ordered stuff from there before with no probles.
