Hi all!
I thought I'd update you on my lease horse (or share horse for the English) search. I've decided on Oxford, the 9 year old Dutch WB gelding. His owner seems thrilled and is sending me over a lease contract. Yay!!! As of May, I will be the proud "mom" of a 1200 lb baby boy!! He's only being ridden one day a week right now by his owner and is ridden mostly by the owner's wife who has her own horse and not enough time for both (plus a weekly "tune up" ride by the instructor to keep him in shape), so everyone is pretty pleased that Oxford will be kept busy and fawned over a little more. He's such a sweet guy and I keep finding myself tempted to take off home (280 miles) for the weekend to see him before May. I have a digital camera, so I'm sure you'll very soon be sick of seeing his sweet face!! :D Now, after all the euphoria, I'm starting to go, "How the heck am I going to pay for this guy?" ;)
