ABRS EXAMS

Has anyone done any one of the ABRS exams , and if so could you tell me what is involved with each. I understand that there are a number of different stages. Would be most grateful if any one could lend a hand ?

Thanks in advance

Vicky

There's the riding and horsecare tests and the teaching awards, which do you mean?

You are at much more freedom to teach what you feel is right rather than the BHS way which you must stick to if you want BHS certificates.

The ABRS are far more open to classical methods, the BHS are a bit stuck in a military rut.

Hi Wally

I'm interested in the riding tests.

Thanks

If you ring them, they are in the book, ABRS, Queens Chambers, Penzance, I think, they have a booklet which has all the tests in riding and stable management.

1 is very basic, 10 requres things like Renvers and travers so it's pretty comprehensive. The brilliant thing about them is if you do not jump for whatever reason you can choose to pass on the jumping and do a set dressage test instead.
