Spent many a happy day there in the 70's, Gloria and Alf Taylor were the owners, worked there on Sundays with my friend. I was 12 we used to get there at 8 get the horses ready for the first ride muck out 3 stables each feed, groom clean tack etc all for 50p and 2 x 1 hr rides we'd get home about 7 absolutely knackered. We also went on a thurs night mucked out the livery's and we got a free lesson. If our Dad's couldnt give us a lift we used to walk or bike through Epping Forest to get there never gave it a second thought.
Does any one ride there or used to ? I see they have a website now and its run by Gloria and her son Chris.

I am right near that yard and I used to have to ride through it to put my pony back (he lived in the back of one of the gardens backing onto the yard.

I remember one of the horses escaped and got into one of the gardens along there and we had to go and get him, he left great big hoof prints in someones lawn:rolleyes: a friend of my brothers used to live along there too they had a swimming pool in the garden, not sure if his parents still live there or not.

I used to ride there too! :)
I started out at Bury Farm, then Gardens of Hanbury and then onto High Beech once GoH closed the riding school.
I went back last year as I missed riding in Epping Forest (Im not close enough now) and booked a couple of hacks. :)
