Theres a horse on my yard that is jet black all through winter.
now it is white with black spots and in summer it is pure white/grey. Any idea what this is. I cant even work out its breed its some kind of heinz i think, its something like appy x welsh x cob. Jenny = confused can someone please help??? :)

no idea of the colouring but that is sure odd colouring are you sure it is not a couple of horses trying to be one lol

Post this in colouring and genetics and you might get some better answers :)

Not a roan is it? Most roans are 2 different colours depending on the season.

When she goes grey in the summer do her head and legs and mane and tail stay the same?

Sounds like roan to me.

in winter he looks clean, in summer he doesn't need to! lol! yes what happens to the mane/tail, any pics?
