I used to ride there for quite a while (8 years) before moving on to loaning horses.
It's quite a popular riding school - wondering if anyone else has experienced it?

I'm looking for a riding school in the Rotherham/Barnsley area. Would you recommend it? I wouldn't mind somewhere with a reasonably wide range of horses that does lessons and regular hacks.

It's certainly very busy! I think there's a long waiting list, and I'm not sure how many hacks they do.

Try asking LauraandHarvey, she's up top side of Rotherham.

I've always owned since living up here so not sure of what schools are where.

I'm looking for a competant light weight rider for my 12.1hh mare if you're interested? South side of Rotherham though.

Been there to look at a horse donkeys years ago, also know one or two horses which went through there at one point or another. Annoyingly I would have bought one of them so was irritated I didnt know he'd gone there.
Oh and I know one of the instructors pretty well, been taught by her for years. Oh and knew one of the grooms for a while too, though she's gone now.

Probably know a few others.....

So a few links to it!

If you don't mind me asking, who was the instructor??

I'd recommend Parklands, not sure of the prices now though as it was fairly expensive. Only bad thing i can think of is that, when i went a few years ago, i'd pay £25 for an hour group lesson - the group was usually packed! Sometimes up to 11 horses in one lesson. There's quite a long waiting list if you are a beginner/novice/never ridden although you can almost certainly get a place if you know what you're doing.
I don't think they hack out. They did, though, use the outdoor school and XC course in lessons in the summer and did have fairly good instruction but once you got to a certain level everything felt a bit repetitive.

hi, i rode at parklands in 2005/06 and i had private lessons which were about £40, only thing was that they used the other half of the school for another lesson. i cant remember the instructors name, but i rode a few of the horses there, one i remember was called Jack and i quite liked him, i mainly worked on my jumping, it was good and i learned a fair bit, i didnt like the sand n the indoor school though as it stuck to you face when you had a sweat on LOL but its like that in most indoor sand schools. its a good place to ride (and shop) i have no idea what they charge now though.
