Good shine comes from the inside!
...other than that, elbow grease!!!

prepared linseed oil added (check the dosage on the bottle) to the feeds, a true healthy shine in the coat always comes from the inside outwards,ie a healthy balanced diet.
A good groom working from dandy, to body brush and a polish with a stable leather or linen will give you a short term shine

will the linseed affect Lami prone pony?

I've heard beer is rather good for getting a nice shine! Smelly though ;) Good old elbow grease, a healthy diet (Glug of vegetable oil is used I know, or cider vinegar, or fresh goat milk!...not sure if that will affect your lami-prone-pone though)
A damp cloth rubbed over a final groom gives a nice short term shine :)

I bought a Bath buddy thingy from Hippy Horse and gave my very dusty looking neddy a good grooming, then finished up with the bath buddy to polish. Four days on, he's still gleaming! Highly recommend it for a short term buffing up :D

Get a small bucket of hot water put 2 good squirts of baby oil into it and get a cloth and give it a good dunk in the water, wring it out and rub horse over with it, that usually works for me but really good grooming everyday is the best.

I've found that either one capful (about a teaspoon) of oil (canola or vegetable or olive) in the nightly feed has made all my horses beautifully shiny. Failing that, a controversial way (which I've also used successfully) is to add a fresh egg to their feed.
In my horses I've seen a noticeable difference within a few days. Rugging also helps keep coats shiny :)

I do this if I want a quick shine. After bathing,or grooming, warm water with good squirt of baby oil, flannel/sponge, wipe all over. Use this in the final rinse of manes and tails. Detangles and adds shine cheaply and quickly.
