How do you become good enough to break in a horse.

I have seen a few short 2week courses where you bring your own horse and they teach you to break it in.

I want to trin horses and have a small yard for a few adgisters and lessons.

I have trained several difficult hosres in the parst and trained a hoses from off the race track to prelim. But the actual breaking part i thought i would need someone to show me the steps.

After all no one will give me there precious darling if i am not qualified will they.

I thought of doing dentistry and there 2-4 breaking courses then getting my instructor cirtificate. Before "Opening for Bussines".

I learnt to train and break in horses after I went to a training clinic with a 'natural' horseman. I showed an interest in breaking and training and he started teaching me some things, because I was so enthusiastic about it and was always around helping out I learnt alot and he was prepared to give me his time and show me what to do.

I think if you really want to be able to handle any horse you need to work with someone with some experience. You can of course learn for yourself by just experimenting with odd horses but really that is not the safest or quickest way. Find someone who's methods you agree with and see if they will let you help them out or watch them working.
