She twisted her colon from suspected colic and died in the night, there was nothing that could have been done to save her.

It has come as a great shock, we was approaching our 3rd anniversary.

Foal is doing much better than my mum or I, but is understandably distaught as are Nelson who was her companion for 3 years and Olivia, her best friend.

Izzy is just shy of 3 months old, the vet feels she will do just fine without her though it is not ideal :(

Olivia has taken her under her wing and is being very defensive over her and won't leave her alone, Izzy and Olivia have always been close. Izzy saw her mum lying there and started to move off with the herd before she was taken away so she had kind of come to terms with things but did neigh when she was taken but didnt stress thankfully.

I still can't believe it myself, me and mum stayed with her for nearly 3hours until knacker man came to remove her, it was a horrible shock when I went down to find her lying there :(

Like i said when you told me yesterday, i just honestly cannot believe it.... I feel so bad for you, and of course little Izzy. I cant imagine what it must have been like and it just breaks my heart to think of little Izzy. But i am glad she has Auntie Olivia and Uncle Nelson, and of course you to help her and look after her.

A truely awful thing to happen and must be just devestating for you.. Sietske had a wonderful life with you though, she had the best of everything and she was loved very much. And at least you have her beautiful baby to remember her by and to give you some comfort.
