Don't you just hate that black gunge that's impossible to scrub, even with a kitchen scourer ?

I emptied a bottle of first-price vinegar, left a couple of hours and hey presto - gunge is floating in the water leaving immaculate water container.

Vinegar is completely safe so you just need to rinse the water container a few times. Plus if you pick a sunny day to do this, most of the vinegar vapours will evaporate anyway. ;)

Excellent result!

Vinegar has absolutely hundreds of uses - I have a book at home that gives uses from cleaning to cure-alls for various medical conditions/illnesses! Wonderful stuff!:)

Will have to do that then!
What the hell is that black gunge anyway?!

I'm guessing it's some kind of algae or equivalent ... the fact that there are a few trees over my water bowl probably doesn't help I guess
