meet my BOGOF foal (who could be the sire)

Hi ya i bought my welsh cob in November 2008 until to discover that she was in foal! :eek: so on the 23rd July 2009 my gorgeous filly Luna Arrived named along the same theme as my mare Twinkle

She is nearly all white with 2 brown ears a brown tail and some roan patches on her sides? the marking are called a war bonnet but does anyone know what she was covered with and what colour the stallion could of been? here are a few piccies!

I'd put money on dad being a splash white, especially with those medicine hat ears. Obviously carries sabino too although that could come from mum. Possibly frame and/or tobiano too. You can test for those two for a reasonable cost. :)

hi ya i am very noivce with genetics so the dad would of been a splash white with either brown or black then?

just read your thread and i would seem that my mare carries the sabino gene as she has a irregular blaze and roaming markings! so does that narrow down the search!! so if it was splash white is it probabily a cobby stallion?

The sire may not have been very loudly marked himself. I saw a pure bred sec D foal with very similar markings and neither parent had much white on them.

My friend has a pure bred D who is coloured.... Commache his name his but Im not sure what his reg name is :confused:

They do crop up - down to splash white and/or sabino though, not tobiano. Splash and sabino are very common in Welshies but there's no tobiano at all.

They're not usually eligible for registration - the one I saw wasn't.

I know of one stud that aims to produce loud splash/sabino foals but can't remember the prefix atm.

i've just seen an A pony born with a lot of white (proper coloured splodges, a bay and white).
