I recently bought a little 12.3hh starved pony that my husband named Arnold Schwartzenegger because he was so little and thin. The lovely (ha ha) lady (ha ha) I bought him from said she had had him for 18 months and had bought him as a yearling for her daughter to do official showing. She also said she was only selling him because her daughter had heart problems and could not ride him and needed an old bomb proof pony, she also said he was green broke. Well, what a joke! I could tell he was not green broke at all which did not bother me but believed he was probably nearing 3 but hard to tell because he was so underweight. He also had 2 missing front teeth at the top which I thought was because his adult teeth would come through. Well I got his teeth checked recently and he is only just 2, also he will never have 2 adult teeth at the top!!!!! he must have been badly kicked or hit in the mouth which knocked out his 2 top baby teeth and badly damaged his adult teeth which will now never come through. My pore little darling has had such a bad start in life, I'm so glad I brought him home with us. I've now seen her advertising 2 other ponys, she must be a dealer but I don't how I can stop her doing this? The only thing I can think of doing is reporting her to animal welfare because of the terrible conditions the ponys are kept in. She must pick up ponys from sale yards and sell them on with a pack of lies. I can only hope she gets her just rewards  Has anyone else come across unscrupulous people like her?

ooo that makes my blood boil! well done for spotting her though, and saving another one. poor thing! i would probably report her, then they could keep an eye on her. you aboviously were experienced enough to realise that pony wasn't green broke, or very well treated, but someone less-experienced may come out getting something they DEFINITELY didn't want from people like her...you know?? it's not right at all.
good job though, and good luck with your new pony!

Poor Arnie, atleast he has a good home now.
Its sad that there are people out there in the world who are so horrid. i thought it was only in the olden days that horses where painted and stood beside railways tracks to make them seem younger.
I feel sorry for some inexperienced person who decides to buy a pony of her.

That's awful - thank god he got a good home! I hope the others that she's now advertising get good homes too. Maybe you could report her to Trade Standards, or the BHS as if she's supplying false information to buyers, and somebody gets injured as a result of it, she's very liable to get sued. Just remember that you are in the right and she is in the wrong.

You are going to have one heck of a running dentist/vet bill. If his top teeth don't come through you'll need to keep his bottom teeth in constant check as they will have nothing to wear against.
If she really is as bad as you say I'd have a word with trading standards and a welfare agency.

I am so glad Arnie has come to us. Your right Wally, I took Arnie to a specialist equine dentist that only comes over here every 6 months and he has to have ongoing treatment to file down his bottom teeth. The real joke is she was trying to sell him with his bridle and saddle and he's never been started! AND he's only just turned 2:mad: I dread to think what would have happened to him in totally green hands. Anyway he is spoilt rotten with us and will now be able to have time to grow up. I take him for big walks through the 1,000 acres near us which he loves, he gets to play with lots of other horses and ponies and he is floating (trailering) beautifully. I've found out she has also conned another person with another incident, so she is quickly getting a very bad name around these parts. Don't you just hate people that have no regard for their welfare? :(

oh dear, that's not nice at all. in fact, this so-called lady sounds horrible! do complain wherever you can, as this is probably the best way of stopping her.
it's nice to hear that arnie has such a nice owner now though!!
