me and my cousin are having to move yards because of two girls there who were just being totally aweful to us.
the old yard was £26 a week including straw and hay.
we could barely cope with the costs
we've had to find a yard at last minute and its £20 a week not including straw and hay :S
how can we help balance costs out?
WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP!!

Deep litter the beds, turn out as much as possible etc.
£26 for livery including hay and straw is a bargain - the farm I used to be on was £40 a week for the same!!!

when we got connor my grandparent (who supply us with hay) had run out of small square bales so we had one of the big sware bales it cost us £15 (i think could have been £20)
it has lasted around 4 months however for about 2wekks maybe 3 connor lived out 24/7 but he has also been on box rest recently so been eating alot more hay.
we still have about anouther weeks worth of hay from the same big square bale we have had connor 5 months ago. so i think that is rather good really

deep litter your beds, we have done this for 25 years - we scoop out the poo everyday and pull a little down from the sides. once a month i take the middle out. We also buy a mini heston of straw, and use wheat straw as the horses do not eat this. One lasts us a month over 4 horses and costs £20 a bale delivered. Maybe yu could share with a friend and then split the cost. Use small hole hay nets and put one inside another, takes longer for the neds to eat it then. We bring ours in at night during the winter, but leave them out as long as possible and turn out as early as possible. Just a few tips for you, sad you have had to leave your old yard, but the price was a bargain.;)
