I am trying to get my hubby into the idea that a second horse Friesian would be a good idea. He could ride one and me the other....just need to teach him to ride:D So I was wondering how many Friesian horses Friesian own.

We had the most amazing Friesians arrive at our yard today fron Holland. One mare and two geldings. I can't wait untill they settle (although I was amazed how chilled out they were considering they just did two days of travelling across Europe). I really like the one gelding...plus he is the same height and build as my mare.

Luckily I don't own the Friesians as they are all for sale and I would never be able to sell them...just land up collecting lots of black furry thing:D and will prob get a divorce from my hubby or a nice stable for me to live in.

Here is a picture of him....I really like him and his temprament is amazing.

If I did get a gelding it would mean no foal from my mare...I wanted to breed a foal either next summer or the summer or the summer after, with the view to keep it as my own.

I am near London/Surrey so keeping one horse is expensive enough let alone two.

We have 5 mares, 1 stallion, 1 colt , 1 filly and 1 more on the way! Tishan our 3 year old went yesterday to his new home :( and weve sold both the filly and colt. I keep saying we should just keep them ALL!! Least we have 6 months at least beofre the colt and filly go :) Plenty time to play!

I think when you go past having 4 horses, a few addtionals dont make much difference lol

I have just the one filly from Holland, 2 yrs old & graded with 2e premmie. Her proper name is Wytske but i call her Libby!

I wanted a Filly so yes... i can breed a foal from her if & when i can find a suitable stallion. Gorgeous breed to own. :)

I've got 4, 2 mares 2 babies. At this point both babies are being kept and we will hopefully have another baby to add to the herd next year.

I have one gelding and love him. I would love another, possibly a mare to breed from in the future. Then i would have 3 - dont think hubby would be happy though!!!

think Friesian's are additive. I am not going with the gelding :(
My mare is 13 so it seems better to put her in foal next summer that way she will be 15 when the foal id due, and about 18/19 when the foal can be ridden. So she can begin to chill in her "old age" How could I say no to furry baby...can't wait. Just need to start looking for a stallion!!!
