We entered two dressage tests last Sunday, I thought it would be nice as it was on grass and my horse always prefers to work outside.
We got there and the weather was a bit here and there with a bit of rain. When we went to the area the grass was quite long and you there was a lot of manure in the area. Anyway we entered a A proceeded down the centre line tracked right at C, we stepped right in some manure and my poor horse's hind slipped right under him and we nearly fell over. Then half way round the test the heavens opened and being on top of a hill the winds were horrendous. We were both drenched I don't think we did too badly but we were quite marked down for the bad conditions. We got just over 60%.
Do the judges take into account the surroundings and conditions you work in?
