Milky has been being a stubbern, brat latley. at first i couldn't even get her over a ground pole. now she is jumping again BUT it takes a lot of leg and sometimes the use of a crop. she does go over it, but she takes a huge pause before she jumps it, then trys to stop on the other side too. my legs burn from my constant squeezing. it doesn't take much work to get her over jumps anymore, its just that annoying pause and she gawks at the jump (puts her head down a bit and takes a HUGE look at it). Now this all happend over night, and nothing scary happend to her to make her scared, my instructer and farrier both agreed it is her "being a stubbern pony"
how can i get her so she isn't taking that huge pause and look? i try to be agressive, i just don't know what else to do!

Weel i dont know much of anyting about jumping but have you tryed using clucking voice commands. Thats what helps my horse on hacking . Sometings i can use the crop and all of leg and he will just not resopond on those days i seemed to find that clucking works to encourage the horse.

Are you sure she's scared? Maybe she's bracing for pain--could she have slipped in the pasture or something? If it happened overnight and it was nothing psychological--it could well be physical.

the vet has been up and said she was fine, the saddle was checked (i thought maybe over the winter her shape changed a bit and the saddle no longer fit) but that to was ruled out.

Just athought..could she have eyesight problems? We have one pony that does this because of defective sight in one eye but she doesn't stop on the other side..no idea about that I'm afraid
