What a difference a few month makes  Took these today having brushed off all the dried cow-pats from him. He's been rolling in it and got it deep into his mane and forelock, all over his bum etc. Messy baby!

I know! Haha. He's currently standing a shade over 15hh. He's not grown in height much over the past month or two but he's certainly filling out :D I love him to bits :)

He's looking really well and you can really see now where he is starting to fill out! In another few months he'll look completely different again:D

I'm sure I recognise your yard as well, looks very familiar to me.

he looks really different from last time i saw him! he's really been growing up lately. i like his orange bits too. funnily enough he looks almost the exact same colour as xander. he has some really light bits & his mane is really orange like apollo's too. they look very similar now apollo has shot up a bit. xander is still only 15.1  so i think apollo is gonna go veeerrrrrry big!

Hi Anna - I know Mark Fittons yard well, ask him about Jim & Danda!!!! He used to use one of their stallions (Shirley) and we were the ones ferrying him backwards and forwards. You aren't far from me then! We haven't been down to Mark's yet this year but it's a lovely yard, he did say last time I spoke to him that someone had a friesian on the yard but didn't realise it was you:D if we are down there soon I will make a point of letting you know and come and say hi in person to your lovely boy.

What a handsome man! Looking fab! I love his gorgeous thick mane! Una rubbed half of hers out so hers looks terrible lol!

Apollo looks slightly finer boned than Una, or is it just the pics that are decieving? Love his cute little feet as well, Una's are huge, very unladylike!!! I bet he will make you a nice little allrounder in the future! Have you got any specific in mind to do with him? I dont think i've ever asked lol

Thank you all for the lovely comments.

Jess- he's fairly fine at the moment but so was Otto as a yearling and he's now got over 10 1/2 inches of bone. He's got a lot of chunking out to do! He does have dainty feet but i'm expecting dinner plates in no time!

Madlady- i'll PM you!

hes absolutely gorgeous, and i'm very jealous! My daughter and i would love a fresian and scoured the net for one but while she was happy to sell the entire contents of our house to buy one, i thought the other half wouldnt have been best pleased!:)

Yeah, he will fill out LOADS over the next few years :D

Una had big huge feet even as a yearling  And they're not the nicest shape as they're rather splayed, so they keep my farrier busy as he's trying to sort them out  Una was probably about the same height as Apollo at his age so i would imagine he will be as tall, if not a little taller than her so he has plenty of growing to do yet!

If you look at the previous foals Apollo and Una's mum has produced she does tend to have fairly finely built foals. Still fairly substantial, but not the very heavy baroque type ones. I know Una has a couple of full siblings in Holland and they are very much the same build as Una, her mother previous owners said that she does tend to produce more refined looking friesians, so dont be suprised if Apollo doesnt end up with quite so much bone as Otto, although Wessel of course is very, very chunky so it would be interesting to see how that cross turns out :) he's looking stunning at the moment!!

Would be interesting to see how he does turn out. I can't wait :D

He's so confident though and has so much trust in me now, we've come on leaps and bounds. He's been on the main road 3 times and encountered 40mph double decker buses etc without so much as a flinch! :D

With his two parents he should certainly turn out very flashy :D

Glad to hear he's doing so well. It just takes time to build up the trust sometimes and it all depends on their temperments and characters. Well done with the bus! Brave boy!! Would you believe, the only thing Una has ever really spooked at (her version of spooking is standing very still and making herself VERY tall lol) was a man on a bike... the leg powered variety, not the noisy petrol powered ones  Horses are funny creatures!

Super pics he reminds me so much of my boy Vinnie, similar look & fine face. Where did he come from?

Funny you should say that Jess. Motorbikes pose no problem to us but pedal bike he has been quite surprised by! Same sort of standing tall spook as Una

Peerielee, he's from Mealrigg (blackhorses on here) by Wessel.

It must be genetic then :D

Una's spooks do make me laugh, she just stands there (looking rather beautiful) all alert and TALL but she doesnt actually do any proper spooking
