Urgent Notice: Potential Danger of Horse Hair...

Posted: 28 Aug 2009 04:53 PM PDT

This is a public service announcement...

In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair of horses.

This substance, called "amobacter equuii" has been linked with the following symptoms in females:

Reluctance to cook, clean or do housework.

Reluctance to wear make-up, good clothes or heels.

Reluctance to spend money on home or car repairs until after "baby has new shoes, pad, blanket, tack, grain, hay & supplements".

"Amobacter equuii" usually results in long hours away from home and exhaustion
which may lead to a loss of physical contact with other
humans (especially husbands).

"Amobacter equuii" is thought to be addictive, driving the need for additional
sources - this may lead to a "herd mentality" or like the potato chip commercial, "you can't have just one".

Beware! If you come in contact with a female human infected by this substance, be prepared to talk about horses for hours.

Surgeon General's Warning:

Horses are expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense.

Oh God!:o Sadly all true-all my work outfits are put on with the idea that they can be super quick changed to fit in at the yard! My whole day revolves around yard visits and my OH says I smell of Eau de Wee!

Is there an injection you can get-I'm quite convinced I'm in the far stages!

I thought I might be infected, but then realised that my reluctance to cook, clean or do housework way pre-dated any contact with horses.

OH might be proving it doesn't just affect females, but a bit hard to judge. He never was much of a one for cooking, cleaning, housework, nor wearing make-up, good clothes or heels, but is even less so inclined lately.

All infected should resist visiting horses incase bacteria is spread between horsey friends and should instead get their daily dose viar endlessly searching horse ads and going on NR

Me too! I almost didn't read it - as just didn't want to know if there was some sort of potential problem!
Very very funny. I've obviously got it bad & passed it on to both my kids - so beware boys can get it too.

I work as a nurse for NHS Direct and am afraid this illness is chronic none of you will ever recover  Treatment is available to ease symptoms....spend more money, time and energy on your horses :D

....i am also a newly infected case as confirmed by OH :D

Interestingly enough, those with this disease do not 'suffer' from it whilst husbands and partners those affected certainly do suffer from the effects. :p
