Well we went. Set off slightly later than expected due to hubby getting back late from nights.
In the box ready to go

Took 4 hours to get upto York, but Clip travels really well and he was very pleased to see his the state of the grass in his corral

Vettted well start pulse rate of 36. The going was quite hilly and a lot of track work so we didnt go as fast as we could of done. At the vet gate at 30 we vetted early at about 12 mins and had a pulse rate of 40. For the last 20 another competitor who was only doing 20 had held back in order to start with me (I really appreciated the company for the last bit). Sloshed him done and got through the last vetting sound with a pulse of 45.

Set of late sunday but the box decided it had had enough and it took us 6 and half hours to get home:( Took it into the garage today - think the fuel pump or air filter is blocked
But very pleased with the Clippi monster - race rides here we come:rolleyes:

well done!!!!! I have done one 50 quite enough for me! What is your horses breeding, I used to do rides at the same time as a lady who competed on an Arab called Clipper by Galleon (Ayrabs).

Byrchen - Clip's real name is Madryn Calyspo by Sheikh Al Kuran (you can check his full breeding out on all about pedigree)
Great Rider- As it was 30 plus 20 and I know for def that the 30 loop was 22. Ans I've come to the conclusion that GPS's tend to underestimate when hilly or woody.
Camyds - Yes there old macs, I don't wear them all the time just when I don't know what the going will be like, but they are great - they don't spin and don't come off even in the heaviest going.

Well done you!! maybe next year I'll join you! (that's the plan anyway!!) Just need to get a 40 under my belt first before I can do one (already moved up a level this year so have to wait til next to move up again!!). Glad to hear you've recovered from your fall too - good job there were no tiger traps on route! lol

A very big well done, it sounds like a nice ride (i might look in to doing that one next season.
Is this your first ever 80km??
Very good heart rates as well, how long did the ride take you??
Was it a CR or ER?? Did you get a place or a grade??
Ive only got 3 rides left of the season Tintern (67km CR) 3 Rivers (130km ER) and Red Dragon (160km ER) then that is me done for the season thank god its been a busy one but a sucsessful one.
Have you got anymore rides to do??
Glad you enjoyed yourself and hope you do more next season.
Well done.

Is this your first ever 80km?? Yes
Very good heart rates as well, how long did the ride take you?? just over 7hours
Was it a CR or ER?? Did you get a place or a grade??A CR and a place as it was with SE not EGB
Ive only got 3 rides left of the season Tintern (67km CR) 3 Rivers (130km ER) and Red Dragon (160km ER) I really want to do the Red Dragon, so have joined EGB to get the novice rides out the way this season, so I can go in as open next year, its a pain as EGB won't recognise SE rides
Have you got anymore rides to do?? Just 3 20 miles/32km left
Hopefully will grade to advanced in EGB next year to match my SE level, I definately want to give race rides ago.
