When will it ever stop raining-where i am (Edinburgh) it has rained ALL last night and ALL of today!

I was planning to ride earlier but when i went to see my boy he was huddled in his shelter looking totally miserable so i didn't think he'd be too pleased at being dragged out for a ride.

The field is absolutely swamped so i got soaked and filthy and i was only out for 5 mins. Hate the rain! Its at times like these i wish i had the option of a stable for him although he would probably hate it.

Sorry for the rant but it just seems never ending!!!!!!:mad:

You are clearly a nicer person than me - I dragged my pony out of her field last night in torrential rain, used a sweat scraper to get the worst off (she was drenched ) and then schooled for 30 mins on transitions. Evil owner :p

Have decided to ignore the weather and carry on regardless :)

Well I don't mind the usual Scottish drizzle (not *too* much, anyway) but this torrential stuff is really NOT FUNNY!

My brand new JW trackies got ruined in the rain last night and all of mine decided to be total idiots and spook and run at everything thus getting me couverd in more water and mud

Was not a happy bunny!

Ended up with Sessa jumping at my mum starting the car and running across the field with the leccy fencing! :|

I hate horses.

We've finally got a dry day after 5 days of torrential downpours, Fina has taken up swimming & the shetlands are going around wearing flippers and diving masks.

We still have horrible rain here. Meant to be going riding but i don't really fancy going out. Had to drive my boyfriend to the bus station last night and the roads were so bad...was 40 mph all the way.

But i'm going to have to go and get soaked because my mum wants me to go and take pics of the burn because it has burst its banks. Too flooded to get the car there...so i have to stick my wellies on and go on foot!

I took this week off work and thought it'd be great, get loads of riding in, blah blah. So far all week it's been blowing an absolute hoolie and lashing with rain. The storms were so bad on Monday 2 huge trees in our field blew down - thank god none of the horses were under them! It stopped raining for long enough on Wednesday for our nice friend with a chainsaw to come and cut them up. And then it started again! Rubbish.
Add to that I live in a little cottage on a farm with no central heating, just an open fire with a boiler for hot water, and it's cold! I refuse to buy coal at the beginning of September!!

This is my swimming pool field! The horses have now been moved to dryer ground ;) I didn't bring them in and they are still unrugged. They didn't seem miserable or anything, the hair under the top layer was dry and their armpits were nice and toasty so left them as they were. Gave them a nice dinner with speedybeet made with boiling water so their dinner was nice and warm :) I have filled and hung hay nets though just in case it gets any worse...
