Going to start my pony hunt :)
butbutbut,
i have a few questions!
1. Can you hire a horsebox JUST to pick your new pony up? (I do not have one, and most of the ponies i've seen are quite far away :( )
2. What is a reasonable time limit (to the horses new home) as I do not want to stress him/her out more than neccessary.
3. Anyone know of a lovely cheeky little pony for sale :P!!
4. What is a sensible price? for example. I have seen some small ponies for sale from £2-300 which are ridden and have a "nice temperment." but then there are also some at £800+, exactly the same deal - some straight from the field. What would YOU say is realistic?

sorry for tonnes of questions!!

thanks! ;)

Can certainly answer the first question for you- yes :) You can get someone to collect the pony and deliver it or there are places where you can hire the box and tow it yourself. Just makes sure you check that the trailer/lorry is checked over prior to use.

You may be lucky, both of mine where delivered by the owner:D
As far as price goes it really depends on what you want and what you want to do :D

that would be lucky :)
i'm literally just looking at Shetland ponies and Welsh sec a. All the little ones. :)
Mostly I will lightly hack (if possible . ie. if broken and what not), inhand showing, inhand walking and general care.

Why shetlands and welshies? Why not something bigger that you wont grow out of?

Because i'm not fussed about riding. If i cannot ride, i do not mind as long as i can care for my pony still. i have a younger sister who is also learning to ride - so if i cannot ride and the pony is suitable, she can have a potter about if she wanted.

plus im 5'. my parents are 5'1 and 5'3.. i dont think i will get that big :P

edit: dont get me wrong.. i do like to ride. but if the pony is not broken or what have you, i dont mind. i guess i want the companionship. i love horses and ponies and theyd been a part of my life for a long time. i stopped the horsey thing until i got my own stable job, and now im really missing it and can do something about it. i have always love ponies more, and i guess im lucky because being quite small i can still have them and want totake advantage of that :)

I don't think you would probably have to spend £2-3 thousand for a pony like that,I would probably be looking to spend up to £1000 at the most if it was me:rolleyes: I am sure you will have no trouble finding something suitable;)
Good luck with your search:)

depends on where you get the pony from ;) if i where to get one from england up to scotland i would expect it to be expensive as they stop halfway up (or down) for a rest over night.
