OH has decided he wants to start riding, he's been borrowing my chaps and been using a pair of his old work boots(don't worry, they fit nicely in the stirrups!)
I'm fed up of him constanly nabbing my chaps, and we're off today to buy him some new boots.
I need help though! I've been looking round for some decent ones, but either he doesn't like them..or they're too 'girly'
He likes the look of a pair of resrequist. Or whatever the Robinsons own brand is. I HATE the brand with a burning passion, but he likes them. Has anyone brought a pair of their own brand boots?
Als Toggi - I like their clothes etc but again have no 'experiance' with their boots and what not. Again, opinions on their boots would be fab.
Long boots or short, I'm not really wanting to spend more than £120 as knowing him he'll get bored of riding and stop for months and then start again :o
So, if anyone's bored enough - find him some boots, and I'll supply pictures of him riding in return! ;):D

I have a pair of Requiste long leather boots. They look alright, have broken in nicely and are so much better for me than chaps/short boots (I have weak ankles) or hideous rubber things!
Would he wear something like these with chaps?

I have the dublin valley's and they are so comfy...not got the hang of riding in them yet though as i'm so used to short boots and half chaps!! I wouldn't say they are "girly" as they are a fairly sturdy boot with a thick clumpy (read as manly!) sole. Warm in winter too. Must admit i've not worn them enough to be able to say how long they'll last etc but to me they seem very good so far!
They also have the short boots in the same style as the tall boots, looks like the one palmerlover posted and they do a matching pair of chaps i think...quite casual!

Quite blokey, but apparently are quite slim fit and don't know if they go up big enough?
Or the classic Mountain Riders?

He's a size 8/9.
Secretly I want him to get short ones so he can have my chaps. That way I get to buy myself some new ones:D
I've just shown him the Dublin Valleys, thankfully he likes them! But please keep suggestions coming, knowing him we'll go to Derby house and he won't like them.
I think I may put him on the swop shop thread....:D;)

There the ones he'd seen and actually liked. But I'm not sure how the Toggi boots 'weather'?
He's also not allowed the MH classics s I have those and we are NOT matching! Our horses practically match

They have good reviews on Your Horse and sites like that and I've never heard anything particular.

Ooh, thanks for that link. I hadn't thought of looking online for reviews :o
Think I'll ring up Derby house and see if they have any in stock. Don't fancy driving all the way there for them to have order the bloomin things in!
Thanks for your help peeps :)
