What do you think when you see wanted advertisements on the internet seeking a shetland or other small pony?
it's taking me forever to root through every single advertisement online and so i was thinking of posting a wanted ad. however, i know from experience that whenever i have seen a "wanted 1 shetland pony" ad, i've often thought something along the lines of "inexperienced parent purchasing for children" because that seems to be common. :/

I don't understand why you would "think" this  Do you mean you just read the title and not the whole advert?

Ok i didnt explain properly. :)
I mean that a lot of the time, the wanted ads titled "Wanted: Shetland pony" do contain the text "I want a shetland pony for my 4 year old daughter to ride but not too expensive cos i cant afford it". It is a put off, in my opinion, and im just wondering if any horse owners would look at the Wanted ads at all because of the ads like this.. or if they would rather people just replied to their Pony for sale ad.
Im terrible at explaining , sorry

I totally understand where you are coming from. I think there is a lot to be said for picking an appropriate title.
I've been half heartedly trying to sell my little mare (probably not all that similar as she's a 12.2hh 2nd pony sort) but have been looking through a lot of 'wanted' adds and am terrified by some of them. That said, it isn't limited to the smaller ponies, there's a fair few 'wanted-horse for me and my daughter to learn to ride, must be a thoroughbred and cheap' type ads.
If space permits go with 'wanted by experienced owner/rider-pony under 11hh' and explain more in the main ad and I'd have thought you'd get some responses.
Just found this.....these possilby are experienced owners (the refs. suggest they *might* be) but the way the ad is worded just makes me think they want a young pony for their kid to play with http://www.mobiya.co.uk/showad/pgtwjmj
