Ive recently started riding.
At 6 foot 6 I was wondering am i the tallest rider on this site?
It would be interesting to know how many other 6 foot ladies and men ride.

I'm a squeak under 6ft (not sure if I want to break the 6ft barrier or not - I'm 17 so I might just sneak up another cm or two :o - so quite tall for a girl but not hugely tall compared to a lot of male riders) and share a 15.2hh WB - apart from having to swap stirrup leathers for flatwork (his owner is 5'4'') I don't have too much trouble with my height :). He's a chunky lad though and I still seem to make him look like a tiddler :p.

Hi I'm 5ft 11'' and have a 16.1hh horse, which is fine. When I as a kid I had a 13.2hh pony from 10 years, by the time I was 13 I needed roller skates for my feet when I got on him!!!!

I'm 17 and 5'11 and shared a 14.2hh pony for 3 years, up until 6 months ago! (I was obviously shorter when I first shared her - about 5'7 ish) but even when I was 5'11 didn't look stupidly big on her.
Here is a pic...

And I now loan a horse who is about 15.3hh and I'm fine on her..

I'm a whisker under 6' and both my horses are 15.1 for various historical reasons. Both take my leg up well though which is actually what really matters when you're riding IMHO.
Howengold, I take it that's the 12.2 in the picture? :)

Cool! There are lots of tall riders out there so don't worry. Like people have said, William Fox-Pitt is 6'6 and he is a man!! so of course you'll be able to find a horse suitable :)

I'm 5'11" and ride a 16.3... just a question
Where do you all buy long boots from??(big text just so you see this question!)
I've got the mountain horse extra long and slim ones but they're still not really long enough and the zips got knackeed quite quickly

Same here, I don't compete either so no requirement for long boots as such - but my normal chaps come up very low on my calf :o - the ones in my photos are a Men's XL - flappy and loose around my leg but long enough at least :D.

I'm 15'11 (and a girl obv haha) and have size 6 and 7 feet (sometimes a 5 in wellies). People seem to think it's quite small for my height  Never thought it was but after these posts I see that it is :D
I wear jod boots and chaps or just any long boots I like, they tend to fit fine and have just bought some Toggi calgary ones which are perfect!

Im a smidge under 5'10" and my pony is 13.2hh, no-one thus far has ever commented on me riding him :). Im at the taller end of the girl height spectrum, but not very very tall.
Im also rather spindly though and have difficulty finding things to fit, especially boots and chaps.
I am selling some boots that are too slim even for my legs though, and long enough, so if any super skinny tall riders are after some GORGEOUS dressage/show boots (size 6), drop me a message ;).
Size 13 would be a pain, my advice would be..... ebay!

i've tried ebay with no luck.
at my height my hunter wellies come mid way up my calf.
I can't afford leather boots, so have to be rubber riding boots.

I was at a show Sunday & a woman in my class was questionning whether my boy was a horse as I must have looked so tall on him

I'm 6ft, have been since I was about 12 - so I only had a few years with ponies..
I unfortunately am very long in the body so whilst leg wise I could probably get away with a chunky 15.2 I look absolutely stupid up top on them!!
Thats why I am currently looking at 17hh+ :D:D

i always feel better on anything 17.2 and over but i def dont look too bad on any of mine(inc 14.3/15hh etc) i think as long as they are chunky they take up the leg well.(im 37" inside leg)
also as an aside im 6'1 and a size 6 shoe..think thats why i am so accident prone
